About Rene Beaulieu

Rene Beaulieu is a HVAC senior expert that worked 37 years for Bombardier Transportation in Canada. He has accumulated over 30 years of expertise in the field of passenger rail HVAC systems. He has been involved in the development of such systems for major passenger rail projects in United States and around the world. He is an active member of the “American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers” (ASHRAE) and is the Chair of ASHRAE TC9.3 Rail/Mass Transit Subcommittee. With other colleagues of the industry, he was involved in the development of ASHRAE Guideline 23: “Guideline for the Design and Application of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Equipment for Rail Passenger Vehicles” published in 2016. He retired from Bombardier Transportation in May 2018 and started "Comfort Rail", his own HVAC consulting business. The main objective of the enterprise is to offer consulting services to transit authorities, rail car manufacturers, HVAC equipment manufacturers and others, in specifying, sizing, designing and assessing design of HVAC systems and equipment for passenger rail cars or other public transportation means.
